One Tree Planted

Ontario's vast land area boasts an incredible diversity of forests. From the northern lowlands near Hudson Bay, through the Boreal forest, to the deciduous forests in the south, the province supports a rich variety of plants and wildlife. Yet, these forests face threats from natural resource extraction and agricultural expansion. Additionally, in April 2019, the Ontario government withdrew funding for its tree-planting program, which aimed to plant 50 million trees by 2025.

Reforestation is crucial for Ontario, offering immense benefits to communities, biodiversity, and the environment. Tree planting initiatives can rejuvenate critical watersheds, restore vital wildlife habitats, and help mitigate climate change. Importantly, public contributions can compensate for the shortfall caused by the cancellation of the Ontario government's 50 Million Tree program, enabling conservation groups to persist in their reforestation efforts across the province.

FowlerSolar is committed to fostering a forest, one kilowatt at a time. In partnership with One Tree Planted, for every kilowatt of solar power installed, two trees will be planted in deforested areas of Ontario through the National Greening Program.
